Boozy Adult Milkshake for Valentine’s Day

Typically “sweet” and  “cocktails” together aren’t my thing. But, there is a big exception to this rule, that being the boozy adult milkshake. There is something oddly perfect about pairing two equally bad for you things -alcohol and milkshake – into a delicious, indulgent, let’s-pretend-calories-don’t-exist-today concoction.

We could certainly mix up a lot of different boozy concoctions in the adult milkshake category, but with Valentine’s Day (or Gal-entine’s Day, whichever you celebrate) just around the corner, I wanted to whip up something perfect for the holiday that’s all about being obnoxiously pink and obnoxiously sweet – in all the best ways.

Michael and I aren’t big Valentine’s Day people. In our well over a decade of celebrating the holidays, I think the most elaborate we got was making heart shaped pizzas one year. If we do celebrate, it’s food related. So, a Valentine’s Day Adult Milkshake is kind of the perfect way to say we celebrated without having to worry about getting each other real gifts or whispering sweet nothings into each other’s ears.

So grab the whipped cream and let’s make some boozy milkshakes.

Boozy Adult Milkshake

What you Need: (makes 2)
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup milk
3 ounces vanilla vodka (2 shots worth)
Red food coloring
Hot fudge
Sprinkles
Whipped cream

Rim your glass by taking warmed hot fudge and dipping a glass into it. Then, dip into festive sprinkles and set aside for 2-3 minutes to set.

Combine ice cream, milk, vodka, and 3-4 drops of red food coloring into a blender and blend until combined. Pour into sprinkle-rimmed glass.

Top with whipped cream.

Enjoy! What’s your favorite sweet + alcohol combination?
