Holy Grail Skincare Products for Dry Skin

Holy Grail Skincare Products for Dry Skin | best products for your dry skin

On Instagram this past weekend I shared my current favorite trio of skincare products to get skin smoother than a baby’s bottom. For reals. Trust. When some of you mentioned how much you liked hearing about other’s skincare routines, I thought it made sense to round up my current gotta-have-them skincare products. You may or may not know, but I have dry skin. While many of these products are awesome for all skin types, these are my holy grails for keeping my dry skin at ease. Over the past few years, I’ve gone from struggling unbelievably with dryness and dry patches, to being able to maintain well-moisturized and smooth feeling skin. This took a lot of trial and error, and I’m sure my skincare will be constantly evolving, but these are the products that are keeping my skin VERY happy as of late.

Maintaining happy, healthy skin is definitely a long term process. Nothing will give you immediate results. But if you take the time to develop a skincare routine and stick with you, you’ll see the improvements.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

I wanted to incorporate a Microdermabrasion Scrub into my routine. If you’re not familiar, at-home microdermabrasion scrubs are like an exfoliator on steroids. You only need to use it once a week and it’s designed with super micro crystals to buff away dead skin cells and encourage the growth and replenishment of new skin cells. This is beneficial to preventing wrinkles, combating dry skin, and fighting blemishes.

After reading a lot of reviews it seemed the Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub was the one to get and I haven’t looked back. It’s pretty affordable, as far as Microdermabrasion scrubs go, and does an amazing job. I’ve been using it consistently for about 5 months now and can tell my skin has an easier time combating dry patches and, overall, looks more smooth.

You also get the benefit of it being from Derma E which means it’s paraben free, hypoallergenic, and is not tested on animals! Get it here: Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment

After trying a couple GlamGlow masks when they first started coming out and everyone was losing it over how “amazing” they were, I was disappointed. They all left my already dry skin feeling even drier. When I had the chance to try this hydrating mask from them, c/o of Frends Beauty, I jumped it at. This mask claims it hydrates, moisturizes, restores, replenishes and calms the skin.

For me, it’s the perfect thing to add to my routine this time of year to keep it feeling hydrated and soft. It’s helped me battle the dry skin of winter and leaves your skin feeling plumped and moisturized. I love using after my weekly Microdermabrasion scrub (above). It’s a pricey item, but a little goes A LONG way and it lasts a LONG time. Get it here: GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment

it Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Balm

You’ll never wash your face any other way after trying this.

Taking makeup off at the end of the day is usually a chore. But ever since this stuff came into my life it has been so much easier. It’s a balm consistency that is designed to be applied to dry skin. So, take a tiny bit and rub it gently across a dry face and it literally MELTS the makeup off your face. Even better, it doesn’t dry out or strip your skin like so many other cleansers do. The sulfate-free formula uses deep-cleansing extracts and botanicals to completely remove all traces of makeup without drying it out or creating any irritation. It’s like magic! Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

This stuff is my new savior for fighting off blemishes. The drying lotion is a fast acting acne spot treatment. You pop it on to any trouble areas at night and wash it off in the morning. It immediately starts reducing the size of blemishes while helping to prevent new ones from showing up. It is formulated with salicylic acid and calamine, so that it’s quick-drying, effective, and soothing on the skin. Get it here: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil

This oil is a blend of rich, moisturizing ingredients, including Tsubaki Oil. It says it’s designed to be used for face, body, and hair – but for me this is not a hair product, it’s a skincare product.  It comes in a spray bottle and I spritz it on my face in the morning and rub it in. I let it sit on my skin for 2-3 minutes before washing it away. If my skin is in need of extra moisture, then I’ll give a little spritz after cleansing as well.

Unlike a lot of other oils, this one doesn’t feel overly greasy but gives you that long-term moisture that you want. Oh, and it smells AH-mazing. Get it here: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil

Derma E Hydrating Night Cream

This is an extra-rich cream that comes infused with Vitamins A and E, Ester-C, Allantoin and Macadamia Oil. It gives your skin that feeling of hydration that really penetrates deep down. It’s a night cream so apply it before bed. You wake up with skin that still feels moisturized. It also has Hyaluronic Acid in it which is able to retain up to 1000x its own weight in water- which is where that well-moisturized feeling comes from.

And, of course, since it’s from Derma E you know that the product is going to be gluten Free, paraben free, hypoallergenic, and is not tested on animals. Yay! Get it here: Derma E Hydrating Night Cream

L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Cleanser

I always need something with Glycolic in my routine- really I think everyone should if they don’t have a sensitivity to it. Glycolic is able to attach itself to dead skin cells and help wash them away which is greatly beneficial for all types of skin types. If you’re dry it helps with dry patches. If you’re acne prone your skin is producing even more dead skin cells so it helps to remove and replenish. If you’re older your skin naturally loses its ability to shed skin cells as quickly so it assists.

This L’Oreal scrubs has become my favorite Glycolic product. It’s a simple, everyday scrub which makes incorporating it into your routine easy. Using it over time will help reveal brighter and fresher skin. Get it here: L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Cleanser

Raw Honey

Raw honey has quickly become my favorite DIY skincare product. I’m going to talk about it even more in an upcoming video I’ll be doing on YouTube. Honey has a slew of benefits for your skin. It’s full of antioxidants which makes it great for fine lines and improving complexion. Additionally, honey’s composition is described as a humectant. A humectant is a substance that attracts moisture and keeps in locked inside.

All you need to reap the benefits of honey is to get it on your skin and let it do its thing!

I spread a layer on top of clean, dry skin a few mornings a week and let it sit for 5-10 minutes (but you can leave it on longer, up to 30 minutes.). Then, rinse away. It helps reduce redness (perfect for any angry little blemish areas) and to smooth and plump skin. It’s an awesome all-natural skincare addition. Just remember to use RAW honey…you won’t get the same benefits from the other stuff. Get it here: Eco Bee Farms Raw Honey

Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Mask

One more item with honey, because I just love it that much. I was sent this Black Sugar Honey Mask c/o of Skinfood and got hooked right away. It’s an ultra-moisturizing AND exfoliating mask. The black sugar granules help buff away dead skin cells and impurities while the honey does its thing nourishing skin (see above).

You buff it onto your skin like a scrub them leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Skin always feels softer and smoother after this mask! And, it’s a more affordable option as well for those watching their pennies! Get it here: Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Mask
