5 Reasons I’m Actually the WORST Blogger Ever.

Let me tell you something, it takes a certain kind of person to do this blog thing and most the the time I realize I’m totally inadequate for the job.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve been hired for a job because I lied about my skills on my resume and now I’m way over my head but it’s too late to turn back.

So…here are 5 reasons I’m actually the worst blogger ever.

1. I never post consistently.
Oh sure, in my youngin’ days as a blogger I posted 3-4 times every week with a set schedule and organized spreadsheets. Everyone preaches the important of consistency if you want to be a successful blogger. Well, that life doesn’t live here anymore. I’m sporadic in my posts at best. Sure I make sure to provide content every week at least, pushing into early morning hours to finish posts, but there is no method to the madness. But, I’m OK with that. I don’t ever want to feel like I HAVE to make content just for the sake of creating content. And if that means sporadic then that means sporadic.

2. I always forget to snap a photo.

I have serious instagram envy about 24 hours a day. Blogger requirements say you must have feeds with beautiful, perfectly timed shots – and a new one at least once a day! I never remember to snap! Want to know how many photos are on my phone from the last 4 days? Three. And all three are screenshots for a recipes for Monkey Bread I’m going to make on Christmas morning. #bloggingfail

3. I’m about 5 years behind on celebrity/pop news
I’m pretty sure my mom is more up-to-date on the current celebrity going-ons. In my mind Britney and Justin are still hittin’ the streets in their all jean outfits.

4. I always forget to promote my posts.
This is like the golden rule of blogging….promote the posts! Make sure you instagram it, tweet it once when live (then set up auto-tweets for 3 days later, 1 week later and 1 month later), share it on Facebook, Pin it to a board….I know the drill. It’s not that I don’t KNOW, it’s just that I don’t (mainly for lack of time and sleep.) Except for the fact that WordPress will auto-share this on twitter, I’ll probably forget to promote it anywhere else.
5. I’m invisible in the blog community.
This is the only one I’m actually sad about. I used to have a lot more time to interact with other bloggers, which is part of the reason blogging is so cool. While I maintain a few good blog friends, I do wish I could be more involved in the amazing community that is #bloglife
