Hi, I’m Kallie

Writing a blog can be strange. Through all the different social medias I use – which sometimes feel like a lot – I think you all must know me pretty well…but, some of you don’t and that’s where the whole “blogging can be strange” bit comes in. Some of you reading this have been here since I started blogging. Some of you just subscribed this morning. You may be here because you found me on Pinterest through a cocktail recipe, or you are a YouTube follower turned blog reader. So, it got me thinking that it might be high time I reintroduce myself to you all. Who is Kallie, who is the writer behind this blog?

Let’s do this.

3a-husband-and-wife

Hi. I’m Kallie.

I’m 28 years old and recently married to my high school sweetheart. We’ve been married only a few months, but been together for 11 years. He’s my best friend, my confidant, and now, luckily for me, my husband.

I went to school to be a teacher and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.   I was convinced I wanted to be a teacher the rest of my life. I taught for 3 years before quitting to pursue Internet Marketing and Social Media. Life is funny that way.

I am the (VERY) proud dog mom to two fur babies, Austin and Zoe. Austin is a Papillon who just turned 10 (why do our babies have to grow up?!) He’s very naughty and almost never listens to what he’s told. He makes me look like the worst dog mom in the world. Zoe is an 8-year-old mutt we adopted from the shelter. She’s the most kind-hearted obedient dog in possibly all the world. She makes me look like Cesar Millan.

I work full-time as a Digital Team Manager for an internet marketing company. I geek over Google algorithm changes, analytics, and all things that have to do with SEO and SEM.

I’m a morning person. My body pretty much shuts down at 8:00pm, so I’ve learned if I want to get things done, I need to wake up early for them.

ugg-boots

The first day of fall is September 22nd and as much as I obsessed over PSL, blanket scarves, and the Leaves candle from B&BW, like everyone else…I will diligently wait until the 22nd to indulge in these things. Prepare for all the fall things on my insta once that day comes.

I have a horrible sweet tooth. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with a sweet tooth as bad as mine. I could actually eat cake every day for the rest of my life and never get sick of it.

Marshall’s is probably my store of choice, next to Ulta. As much as I understand the concept of splurging on certain items for your closet I can never convince myself to buy designer-priced clothing. Um, I can get this same thing for $20 at Marshall’s.

cotton-summer-style

While we’re on the topic…”comfortable” is my number one requirement for a piece of clothing…it’s why I will never make it as a fashion blogger.

If you asked me to pick my favorite lipstick of all time I’d tell you to forget about it, I don’t do favorites….even though I’m crushing on this color pretty hard right now.

Cocktail of choice? I’m so glad you asked. I’ll take a hot and dirty, on the rocks.

cheese-plate

I pride myself on my ability to make a really good charcuterie plate. It’s my go-to when I have guests.

I have one tattoo, even though I never ever thought I’d get one. More about why I did in the story behind my tattoo.

Yes, we want to have children. You know, once you get married everyone wants to know. Michael and I have always wanted a family for as long as we knew we wanted to be together forever.

friendly-alpaca

I have a strong attraction to things that are fluffy: puppies, alpacas, throw pillows from Target.  I chose my Honeymoon to Peru partly because I knew I would get to snuggle alpacas and I did and it was AWESOME.

I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Am I grown up? I know I want to pursue my own path. Part of having this blog and my YouTube channel allows me to do that. I’m still trying to make heads or tails of it all though.

I wish I was better at small-talk. I am getting better, but am always very jealous of people who can create awesome conversation out of nowhere with people they just met.

I have something fun coming to my newsletter. I have a mailing list, you can sign up here, that I eagerly started this spring and then forgot about have never sent a real newsletter to. But, that is going to change! I want to start sharing my favorite links, surprise giveaways, and a lot more over there like I originally planned. So sign up and join in, more to come very soon!

Leave a fun fact for me about yourself in the comments so I can get to know you better!
