Christmas Morning Monkey Bread

The one thing that’s just as good as scurrying down the stairs Christmas morning to exchange gifts is the Christmas breakfast goodies. I don’t know what your Christmas morning tradition is, but in my house we always had some type of treat Christmas morning. Some years it was cinnamon buns, warm banana bread, or spiced crumb cake.

Michael and I have continued this tradition the past few years since we’ve been enjoying Christmas morning at our own house. One of our favorite concoctions has been Monkey Bread. It’s crazy, stupid easy and so decadently delicious. It’s sure to become a staple in our holiday mornings for many years to come. Since it’s so damn good and so darn easy, I thought I’d share it with you.

Hold on to your hats, I’m about to teach you how to make this easy Monkey Bread.

Plan to become addicted.

Ingredients for Easy Monkey Bread

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cans of full-size refrigerated biscuits (like the Pillsbury ones)
3/4 cup butter, melted

Step One: Heat oven to 350°F and grease a fluted tube pan (you can get away with a dish that’s not a tube pan, there’s just a slight risk the very middle might be extra gooey)

Step Two: Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

Step Three: Separate dough and cut each biscuit into quarters and put into the bowl of cinnamon-sugar. Shake to coat each quarter. Arrange in the pan.

Step Four: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and melted butter. Then, pour over biscuit quarters.

Step Five: Bake until golden brown and no longer doughy, about 30-40 minutes. Cool for about 10 minutes, then turn upside down onto serving plate. Viola! Serve warm!
