3 Best Jean Shorts For Summer

Finding the perfect jean shorts is a full-time job. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find ones I love. Luckily for you, you can use my time to your advantage because I’m sharing the best three jean shorts I’ve ever found. Each is a little different in fit and style, these three shorts give me everything I need in the jean short department.

AE Ne(x)t Level Denim Midi Shorts

First up are the AE Ne(x)t Level Denim Midi Shorts. These shorts are one of my favorites because they are insanely comfortable and give good coverage (not too short in the booty!) Perfect for mom life. The jean is stretchy, so they don’t feel stiff at all, almost a jegging-like material. They are a more mid-rise, hitting maybe 1/2-inch below my belly button. I also love that I can wear tons of tops with these shorts, you can just throw on a basic tee, or do something loose and tuck in the front, or wear something tied off. It’s just a very versatile jean short.

They fit true to size. I always size up one in shorts as I prefer my shorts to be a little more loose than my jeans. So, I suggest you size up one in these. They don’t stretch or shrink with time.

Abercrombie Mom Shorts

I kept seeing these shorts all over Instagram and was like, FINE, I’ll try them. And Instagram was right, they are great! I can pull off the mom jean trend in the pants, but I’m digging them in shorts. I have the midrise (they also come in high-rise). But, even the midrise come up fairly high, they hit right at my belly button. They are also fairly loose around the leg. Because of these two factors, they are the style jean short you’d wear tucked in or with a bodysuit. Also, even though they have the high-rise jean look, there is plenty of length in the back.

They fit true to size, so again I sized up one size from my normal size for a loose fit.

BLANKNYC Fulton Ripped Roll-Up Shorts

If you want just a good old fashion jean short, this is it. In a world where everything is high-rise or some type of specialty or trendy jean short, I spent a lot of time just finding just a basic jean short. They hit basically right at the hip, not high or low rise. The length is comfortable, not too short but not long either (and I am tall, 5’9″, so it’s easy for things to look too short on me). They are a normal jean material but don’t feel too stiff, they definitely have a little stretch to them. They are basic and simple and timeless.

They fit loose! I usually size up in jean shorts but I am wearing my normal size in these.
