Avocado Mousse topped Bloody Mary

Horseradish Bloody Mary

Here on the blog, and over on my insta, I shared my most recent adventure into Bloody Mary concoctions, and that is the avocado mousse.  I was inspired by the Bloody pictured above which I had at a restaurant here in Connecticut, and shared in a post called Brunch Libations.

I had finally got a homemade Bloody Mary mix down that I really enjoyed, Horseradish Bloody Mary, and decided it was important I have a “signature” Bloody Mary, because, you know, that’s what basic white girls do.The avocado mousse and thick slab bacon, as pictured below, is what I came up with for my first round.  I’ve had enough questions about this “avocado mousse” that I thought I better share the recipe.

Avocado Mousse

You’ll need: one ripe avocado, Worcestershire sauce, one lemon, and whipping cream

Take one very ripe avocado and puree with 1-2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce and the juice of 1/3 of a lemon until very smooth.

In a small bowl whip the whipping cream (about 1/4 cup) until stiff.  Add about 1 part whipping cream to 2 parts avocado puree and mix together.

Voila! You’re done! This went beautifully on top of my Bloody, but I also think it’d be amazing on tons of other things like grilled chicken, quesadillas, grilled fish, etc.Enjoy!
