Gift Ideas for Your Mother-in-Law | The Gift-Guide-By-Price Series

Hello, and welcome to the 2019 Gift Guide Series. Today we’re taking a HIGHLY REQUESTED person…the mother-in-law.

DUN DUN DUNNNNNN.

I dunno ’bout you all, but my MIL is pretty chill so I feel pretty lucky. That being said….she CAN be tricky to shop for, so hopefully, this guide will help. It’s also good for moms, grandmas, and aunts! Really, any extra lady in your life!

Under $15

Turkish Inspired Throw– it is super cute, comes in a few colors, and a great staple in any house so a shoo-in for a perfect gift (note some colors are over $15)

Personalized Ornament – Love this because it doesn’t break the bank but has that personalized feeling.

Cute Doormat – Great idea for a mother-in-law because it’s SO versatile depending on the type of MIL you have. You can go with something classic, something cutesy, something funny, something sarcastic, something for dog-lovers….basically just about a doormat for anything.

Grandmother Books– if you have children, I LOVE the idea of these books. They are essentially a book of questions you have your MIL fill out about themselves and their lives. Eventually, it gets passed down to your children so they can better know who their grandparents are/were. Ideally, they keep getting passed down!

Under $30

Custom Cheese Board – great for a woman who loves to host, the personalization really makes it look like you put some real thought into it.

State Ornaments – These glass ornaments are SO pretty and again has a simple personalization. Buy them their home state or a state that has meaning to them.

Other Ornament Options

Or, opt for rustic wooden state ornaments. Lastly, this artist does hand pottery ornmanets for only $5!

Wine Infused Dessert Sauces – for the wine-loving woman you can’t go wrong here.

Herb Kit – for any woman who likes to cook, fresh herbs are great to keep in the kitchen, especially in these colder winter months.

Under $50

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat – Must-read book for any foodie. I’ve heard this author speak twice and have read portions of this book myself. My aunt and uncle are big foodies and swear by this book!

Add-on

In the book she talks a lot about high-quailty “finishing salt” so if you want to add to it, also gift this set.

Initial Necklace – great for a trendy MIL, these oversized letter necklaces are great, simple pieces that go with everything.

Enameled Cast Iron Covered Skillet – This is great for anyone who likes to cook. A cast iron is a must in most kitchens, but this covered casserole-style one is something a little different many people might not have.

My Family Cookbook – A lovely sentimental gift, this cookbook is something that can be filled out over time with family recipes as a sweet family heirloom.

$50 and Over

Custom house watercolor – Love the personalization of this gift.

Sunday Riley Night Sleeping Oil – if you’re looking for a splurge beauty gift, this one is great.

Tile System – Tile are little chips you connect to things you lose a lot like your keys, remote, wallet, etc. Then you can ping them via your phone!

Keurig Single Brewer – Coffee with the press of a button. Great for empty nesters! I got this for my mom last year and she uses it EVERY DAY.
