Romper Love and a Double Date

I admit it, I have a new addiction to rompers.  Really, how can you not when there are so many cute ones every time you turn around?  I tried, unsuccessfully, to get a romper last year. My long legs and torso made it a bit of a trick. But, this year there are so many options I’ve literally been scooping them up left and right. This emerald green one was a Marshall’s find for only $16. Oh, Marshall’s, I love you so much.

One of my favorite things about this piece, besides maybe the perfect color, is the back detail. I love that it scoops down low in the back because it’s a little bit sexy, but still keeps it classy.  Plus, the daisies make it a playful & fun.

On the day I wore this Michael and I were headed out for a double date with some good friends.  Isn’t he the most handsome, guy? Sure, I guess I’m tad bit bias, but he is kinda cute, ain’t he?
We went to a place called The Blue Oar, in Haddam, Connecticut. It sort of has that food-shack vibe with picnic benches and a counter where you order your meal, but you can get more than just burgers and lobster rolls. I had the baked scallops with potato hash and it was pretty dang tasty.
The other thing I like about it is that it’s BYOB, which I’m always down for. I can kinda be a cocktail snob, so I’d rather bring a pitcher of my own than pay $10 for some poorly made one. I brought lemonade with gin and St. Germian.

Our lovely companions brought along some local Connecticut beers along with this Shandy which is made in Rhode Island. I’d never tried this before but they told us it’s pretty popular.  I can see why, it was light and refreshing and very delicious.

We spent the rest of the night laughing and enjoying the amazing summer night. And when the sun dipped behind the river we were treated to a beautiful New England sunset.

Have you jumped on the romper bandwagon yet?
