Travel | 2014 Breeder’s Cup

Oh Monday, you depressing sloth. Even more so since you’re the Monday AFTER a fab.u.lous vacation.

Oh, I also left my wallet on my airplane. So, there’s that. Just spending my afternoon on hold with various forms of unhelpful customer service reps.
Either way, looking over photos from vacation can always bring a little cheer.  Today I’m sharing some snaps from my day at the 2014 Breeder’s Cup.
For those of you not in the loop, the Breeder’s Cup is a horse race, a big one in fact, that closes out the horse racing season.  It took place at Santa Anita Park in California.
But mainly, IMO, it’s about cute dresses, fun hats, champagne and $1 bets.
We watched some races and then wandered down near the paddock to watch the horses come in after their races (and sip on a little complimentary champagne – don’t mind if we do.)
We worked ourselves up an appetite and headed out to a slew of food trucks for a little snack.  We decided to go for Baby’s Badass Burgers.  Here I am admiring her…burgers.
Michael got a good old fashion burger and I got the vegetable burger sliders.  Served on Hawaiian rolls these did NOT disappoint.

It was a beautiful afternoon and we soon headed back to our seats to enjoy the view, some cold beers, and to discuss betting strategies with our new friends.
Thank you so much to the Breeder’s Cup for such an awesome day!
Have you ever been to the races?
Have you travelled to Cali? Where and what was your favorite?
