Wedding Wednesday: Will you be my Groomsman?

IMG_0070

Michael finally was able to ask his last Groomsman to be in the wedding which means I can finally share with you how he (we) did it!

When Michael found out I was doing little boxes for my Bridesmaids (which you can see here: Will you be my Bridesmaid?), he insisted he have something equally as cool for his boys.  We took a trip to the local craft store where he found these wooden cigar boxes.  He picked out a stain and we stained them cherry.  Lastly with a little gold paint I painted each boy’s initials into the boxes. We finished it all in a single evening and  it was such a simple way to jazz the whole process up.

Inside the boys were formally asked to “suit up.” I created little paper inserts just like I did for my bridesmaids.

Then, Michael personalized each box by choosing something specific to that guy to put inside.  The Best Man got whiskey and scotch, another groomsman got hot sauce, one got chocolate, one got coffee, and one got jerky…all things each of the boys love.

Michael and I had so much fun making up the boxes for our favorite guys and ladies. I can’t remember if I’ve told you all already or not, but two of Michael’s groomsmen are married to two of my Bridesmaids (that’s what happens, I suppose, when you date for a decade before getting married), so we actually got to ask some of them together which was really fun and special.

Thanks for stopping by for another Wedding Wednesday.

Coming soon will be some posts on Save the Dates, hand-letting envelopes, and possibly the woes of wedding dress shopping! I don’t actually know if there will be woes, I’m just anticipating it to be a stressful processes, haha! I am honestly overwhelmed at the prospect of the wedding dress. People put SO much pressure on it, and I feel like it’s that ONE thing that EVERYONE has an opinion on what will look good on you.  While it’s so nice to hear everyone’s thoughts and suggestions, since it’s such a special piece I’m going to have to remember to stay level-headed and pick something I love and feel comfortable in, not what anyone else wants me to be in. Wish me luck, I’m starting next month!
